Areas of Life

Your wellbeing has many dimensions.
Each one can be measured.

You might be thriving emotionally but struggling at work. Doing well professionally but feeling invisible socially. AdjustmentScore measures each dimension independently — because treating your whole life as a single score misses everything that matters.

Mental & Emotional Health
Work & Career
The most common finding
People who check one area almost always discover another that needs attention. The second assessment is usually the most important one.
Life Transitions

Every area is free to start. You only pay to unlock the full report — $7.99 per assessment.

$7.99. The clearest money
you'll spend on yourself this month.

One report costs less than a coffee and gives you something concrete to act on — a validated clinical score, a plain verdict, and a recommended path forward.

$100–300
One therapy session. Valuable — but most people wait months before booking one. A score can help you decide whether to go.

Most people find one area they expected — and one they didn't.

What is AdjustmentScore?

A real number. Zero trace left behind.

Mental health check-ins should never require trust in a company you don't know. AdjustmentScore is built differently — your answers are processed entirely in your own browser and are never transmitted to us.

🔒
Private by architecture, not by policy
Your answers never leave your device during the assessment. No name, no account, no email — nothing links you to your score unless you choose to unlock it.
🧪
Built on validated clinical tools
The questions come from a professionally validated psychological battery used by counsellors in clinical practice. Reliability scores average 0.88 — not a quiz someone made up online.
🎯
A clear number, not a vague feeling
You get a score compared against a published benchmark — doing well, or would benefit from support. No ambiguous graphs, no upsell disguised as a result.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Before you start, here's what most people want to know

Is this therapy? +
No. AdjustmentScore is a self-assessment tool — not therapy, not a diagnosis. Think of it like a blood pressure reading. It tells you your number and whether that number is in a healthy range. What you do with that information is up to you.
What instrument is this based on? +
AdjustmentScore is built on the Multidimensional Adjustment Battery (MAB) — a professionally validated psychological assessment instrument developed and used by counsellors in clinical and research practice. The MAB covers a broad range of life adjustment areas and has reliability scores (Cronbach's Alpha) averaging 0.88 out of 1.0, which is considered high for psychological instruments. You are not answering questions someone made up — you are completing the same scales a professional would administer in a clinical setting.
How accurate is this? +
The MAB has been validated for reliability and clinical use. A Cronbach's Alpha of 0.88 means the scales are internally consistent and measure what they claim to measure. That said, no self-report questionnaire is a complete picture — scores can be affected by how you're feeling on the day, your willingness to be honest, and life circumstances a questionnaire cannot fully capture. Use your score as a starting point, not a final verdict. A trained professional will always give you more than a number can.
What do "Adjusted" and "Not Adjusted" mean? +
Each MAB scale has a published population benchmark — the average score of people who are coping well in that area. If your score meets or exceeds that benchmark, you are considered "Adjusted" in that area, meaning you are managing this part of life reasonably well. If your score falls below it, you are "Not Adjusted" — which does not mean something is permanently wrong. It means this is an area where professional support, or even a structured conversation, could make a real difference.
Do I need to create an account? +
No. There is no account, no registration, and no login. You come to the site, choose an area, answer the questions, and that's it. Nothing is tied to your identity at any point.
Is my information private? +
Yes — and this is structural, not just a policy. Your answers are scored entirely within your browser using JavaScript. Nothing leaves your device while you take the assessment. We have no server that receives your responses, no database that stores your score, and no record that you ever visited. If you pay to unlock your report, the payment is handled by Stripe — we never see your card details. Your score is delivered directly to your browser and nowhere else. Once you close the tab, it is gone.
Can my employer, doctor, or anyone else see my results? +
No. Because we do not store your results anywhere, there is nothing for anyone to access. Your report is a PDF downloaded directly to your device — it never passes through our servers. Only you have it.
Why do I have to pay to see my results? +
Taking the assessment is free. The $7.99 unlocks your full PDF report, which includes your exact score, how it compares to the population benchmark, a plain-English explanation of what your score means, and a recommended next step. It is a one-time charge — not a subscription, not a recurring payment. We keep the assessment free so that cost is never a reason not to start.
What exactly is in the PDF report? +
Your report includes: your raw score and the maximum possible score for your chosen scale; a visual score bar showing where you sit relative to the benchmark; your verdict (Adjusted or Not Adjusted) with a clear explanation of what that means for your specific score; and a recommended next step if your score suggests support would help. The report is dated, labelled with your assessment area, and yours to keep, share with a professional, or refer back to.
Can I take more than one assessment? +
Yes. AdjustmentScore covers multiple distinct areas of life — from emotional wellbeing and anxiety to work, marriage, bereavement, retirement, and more. Each area is a separate assessment. You can take as many as are relevant to you, in any order, at any time. Each one costs $7.99 to unlock. Many people find that checking a second area reveals something they did not expect.
How long does it take? +
It depends on the scale. Shorter assessments (8 questions) take about 3 minutes. Longer ones — like Work & Occupation (32 questions) or Relationship & Marriage (35 questions) — take around 13 minutes. The estimated time is shown on each scale before you begin. You read each statement and respond with how true it feels for you right now. There are no right or wrong answers.
What if my score says I need help? +
A low score does not mean something is permanently wrong with you. It means you are carrying more in this area than you probably should be carrying alone. Your report will suggest a practical next step — typically a platform where you can speak with a licensed therapist. You are not obligated to act on it immediately, but having a number and a clear direction is usually more useful than a vague sense that something is off.
Is this suitable for everyone? +
AdjustmentScore is designed for adults aged 16 and over. Some scales — such as Empty Nest, Widowhood, or Retirement — are only relevant at specific life stages; the site makes this clear before you begin. This tool is not a substitute for clinical assessment if you are currently experiencing a mental health crisis. If you are in immediate distress, please visit the Crisis Resources page.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

AdjustmentScore is built on a simple principle: your mental health data is not ours to keep. This policy explains precisely what happens to your information when you use this service.

What we do not collect

During the assessment itself, we collect nothing. Your answers are processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to our servers, never logged, and never stored anywhere outside your device. We have no record of what you answered, what your score was, or even that you took a test.

What we collect when you pay

If you choose to unlock a report, your payment is handled by Stripe — a third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation that a payment was made, along with a Stripe session ID. We do not receive or store your card number, billing address, or any financial details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data you provide during checkout.

We do not ask for your name or email address at any point in the payment flow. If Stripe provides us with an email address as part of the transaction record, it is used only for payment receipts and is never used for marketing.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's sessionStorage to temporarily hold your assessment state while you are on the page. This data is automatically deleted when you close the tab. We do not set tracking cookies. We do not use analytics services that track your behaviour across websites.

Affiliate links

Your results page may include a recommendation to Online-Therapy.com. This is an affiliate link — if you click it and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Clicking the link takes you to their website, where their own privacy policy applies. We do not share any information about you with them. They have no knowledge of your score or what assessment you took.

Advertising

If a Partner Spotlight advertisement appears on your results page, it is served by a third-party advertising network. That network may set cookies in accordance with their own privacy policy. We do not share any health data or assessment results with any advertiser.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your mental health information with employers, insurers, government bodies, or any other third party. The only third parties who receive any data from this service are Stripe (payment processing) and any advertising network in the Partner Spotlight slot.

Children

This service is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used this service, please contact us.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal data linked to your identity, there is typically nothing to request, correct, or delete. If you have a specific concern about data related to a payment transaction, contact us at [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Use

Last updated: February 2026

By using AdjustmentScore, you agree to these terms. Please read them before using the service.

What this service is

AdjustmentScore is a psychological self-assessment tool. It provides scores based on validated clinical instruments and compares your responses against published population benchmarks. It is not therapy, not a clinical diagnosis, and not a substitute for professional mental health care.

Think of it as a measurement tool — like a thermometer. It can tell you your number. It cannot interpret what that number means for your specific circumstances, and it cannot prescribe a course of action.

What this service is not

Payments and refunds

Report unlocks are one-time payments processed by Stripe. Because the report is delivered immediately upon payment and constitutes digital content, we do not offer refunds once a report has been viewed. If you experience a technical problem that prevented you from accessing your report after payment, contact us at [email protected] and we will resolve it.

Affiliate relationships

We may earn a commission if you click through to a recommended platform and make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay. Recommendations are made based on your assessment score, not based on commission rates. We only recommend platforms we consider credible.

Intellectual property

The AdjustmentScore name, design, and code are our property. The underlying psychological assessment items are based on the Multidimensional Adjustment Battery (MAB), used under licence from the instrument's author. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute the assessment questions or scoring system.

Limitation of liability

AdjustmentScore is provided as-is. We make no warranty that your score is a complete or accurate reflection of your mental health. We are not liable for any decisions you make based on your results — including decisions to seek or decline professional care. Your use of this service is at your own discretion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved in Nigerian courts unless otherwise required by applicable law in your jurisdiction.

If you are not in crisis but want to talk

A low score does not mean something is permanently wrong. It means you are carrying more than you probably should carry alone. Many people find that one conversation with a professional changes their perspective significantly.

Your results page includes a recommendation to Online-Therapy.com — a structured, evidence-based programme with a licensed therapist that is available internationally and does not require insurance. It is one option. There are others. The most important step is the first one.
